Kevin Beardsley

Kevin Beardsley is a Software Consultant in GRS’ Southfield, Michigan office.  He has more than 20 years of software development experience including twelve years of experience developing distinct applications specifically for the actuarial and benefits consulting industry.  Kevin has completed software implementations for municipal, county and state retirement systems in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri , Texas, and Wisconsin.

Kevin leads GRS’ Client Software Services team, which develops pension and OPEB software applications.  In this role, he manages client software projects, as well as serving as a primary software architect.  Kevin is also responsible for ensuring client satisfaction with the design, implementation, and maintenance of deployed software and interpreting client needs and responding with innovative applications.

He also supports clients and his team with development and maintenance activities such as gathering software requirements, data cleaning, testing, drafting documentation, providing customer support, and upgrading deployed software.

His client software implementations include projection software, benefit calculators, and IRS applications for 415 testing and exclusion ratio.

Kevin was a key contributor in the development of GRS Foresight® our most recent version of projection software.  He has also conceived and developed large-scale applications that GRS utilizes to service software and valuation clients.  One such application is the GRS Launch Platform™, which deploys desktop client software and related updates.  Kevin also developed the GRS Advantage™ website, which offers a data upload utility, hosts web-based client software, and provides online access to GRS surveys and archived research publications.  Kevin was also a key architect of GRS TrendLine™, GRS’ public pension survey reporting software that is deployed through GRS Advantage™.

Kevin utilizes the C# programming language, FORTRAN, XML, SQL Server and Oracle Server in his work.  He also has experience with cloud technology.
