Jennifer Cagasan, EA, MAAA

Jennifer Cagasan is a Consultant in GRS’ Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. She has nearly 10 years of experience performing actuarial valuations and consulting. Her clients include both governmental and private-sector retirement systems and plan sponsors located in Florida, Tennessee, Rhode Island, and Virginia.

Jennifer’s client responsibilities include actuarial valuations, retiree health care valuations, funding projections, employee benefit statements, benefit calculations, client data maintenance, and preparation of government filings and required disclosures. Her pension and OPEB plan actuarial experience covers valuations for funding and GASB/FASB accounting purposes, cost analyses for proposed plan changes, multi-year forecasts of valuation results, cash flow projections/ sensitivity analysis using deterministic and stochastic approaches, experience studies, investment return assumption analysis, and actuarial audits.

Jennifer has extensive knowledge of Florida Statues, including Chapter 175 and 185, as they apply to municipal pension plans. She also has experience with group insurance plans offered to public sector employees, hybrids, COLAs, Deferred Retirement Option Plans (DROPs), early retirement windows, and closed plans.

Jennifer has a strong programming and modeling background having worked with multiple actuarial systems such as GRS’ proprietary systems and ProVal. Her technical expertise provides her with skills in replicating actuarial valuations for new clients and preparing, checking, and reviewing annual valuations and studies.
