Bill Detweiler, ASA, FCA, MAAA

Bill Detweiler is a Consultant in GRS’ Denver, Colorado office. He has more than 14 years of actuarial and benefit consulting experience. He has worked with state and local government, tribal, and private sector benefit plans. Bill serves municipal and statewide retirement systems in Arizona, Alaska, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, South Dakota and Wyoming. His private sector clients included companies from the communications, waste management, and oil & gas industries.

Bill has experience with traditional defined benefit designs, hybrids, defined contribution, and cash balance plans. His work covers pension and retiree health valuations, benefit cost studies, plan design, experience studies, and actuarial audits. He has significant experience with plan design and cost studies related to cost-of-living adjustments, retirement eligibility, final average compensation, early retirement windows, and lump sum distribution windows. Bill also has extensive experience with GASB Statement Nos. 67/68 and Nos. 74/75, having developed standards and methodologies for implementation.
