Consultants and Actuaries

Robert Nordin, FSA

Bob Nordin is a Senior Consultant in GRS’ Minneapolis, Minnesota office.  He has more than 40 years of experience as an actuarial retirement consultant working with church, corporate, and non-profit plans.  At GRS, Bob’s primary focus is working with church plans across the country on the many issues and challenges that they face.  His clients have included Archdioceses and Dioceses in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin.

Bob’s consulting focus is priest and layperson pension plans.  He has extensive experience providing actuarial valuations, benefit policy development, benefit adequacy studies for priests (in partnership with the Laity for Support of Retired Priests), and plan design studies. In particular, Bob has unmatched knowledge of the impact of late ordinations, international priests, and resigned priests on priest pension plan funding.

Throughout Bob’s career, his projects have required significant interaction with management to articulate benefit policy and the alternatives that meet the needs of the organization.  In 2011, he was selected by the Laity in Support of Retired Priests (LSRP) to build an adequacy model to help Diocese across the country gauge the adequacy of their current retirement programs.
