Mary Ann Vitale, CEBS

Mary Ann Vitale is the Research Manager for GRS and is located in the Southfield, Michigan office.  She has more than 35 years of experience in employee benefit consulting services, with an emphasis on public pension retirement systems.  Mary Ann conducts research and analysis on employee retirement systems that has been used by plan administrators, actuaries, and other benefit professionals.

Mary Ann’s research and expertise covers employee benefit related public sector policies and trends, accounting standards, federal and state laws, and Internal Revenue Code regulations.

Mary Ann also leads the development of GRS’ publications including: GRS Insight, GRS News Scan, and GRS Perspectives, among others.  During her career, Mary Ann has served as an author, coauthor and editor of various articles, research reports and other publications.

At GRS, prior to serving as Research Manager, she was a governmental research specialist and an actuarial analyst for statewide and municipal retirement systems.  Her extensive experience focused on actuarial valuations, experience studies, retirement benefit calculations, and employee communications.
