Consultants and Actuaries

Lewis Ward is a Consultant in GRS’ Dallas, Texas office.  He has more than 30 years of experience in public sector actuarial and employee benefits consulting.  Lewis provides actuarial and consulting services to more than 10 statewide and municipal public pension retirement systems from Texas to Hawaii, and is the GRS account manager for nine of these clients.

Lewis actuarial experience includes, actuarial valuations, analyses of benefit and cost proposals, experience analyses, and legislative analyses and testimony.  During his career, Lewis has worked on traditional defined benefit, hybrid arrangement, and other postemployment benefit (OPEB) plans.  Lewis is an expert in 415 testing and compliance and serves as a GRS resource in this area.

Presentations

Lewis has been a speaker at the TEXPERS conferences, speaking on topics such as the Governmental Accounting Standards Board’s (GASB) standards for pension and OPEB plans, 415 testing and compliance, excess benefit plans, and actuarial concepts.
